Archiving and versioning generated clips

Generated clips pile up quickly, and a month later it is hard to know which prompt produced which file. A light archiving routine solves this.

One folder per project
Inside it, keep three subfolders: inputs (source images, references, sample clips), outputs (rendered files) and notes.

Consistent file names
Use the date, a short subject and a version number: 2026-10-21_lighthouse_v03.mp4.

A notes file for every version
Record the prompt, the inputs used, the settings and a one-line verdict such as "good motion, wrong colour".

Mark the chosen version
Rename or copy the approved file to include "final", and keep the rejected versions for reference rather than deleting them immediately.

Back up inputs first
Outputs can be regenerated; original photos and drawings often cannot.

Review and prune
Once a project is published, delete unused drafts but keep the notes, which are the most valuable part for future work.

Whatever service generated the clips, for instance image to video AI, the routine stays the same.
